Using An Original Fence Design For A Noise Break

A homeowner was experiencing disruptive outdoor noise, prompting the need for a custom solution. Heritage Restoration designed and built a partial privacy fence to help deflect sound while preserving outward visibility.

Project Summary

Fences do more than define property lines—they reduce wind-carried noise, provide privacy, and enhance curb appeal. However, some homeowners prefer not to fully block their view. A partial privacy fence offers the perfect balance: it obscures much of the property from view while preserving a connection to the surrounding environment.

In this case, the homeowner was experiencing significant noise issues. Heritage designed a fence layout that would redirect and diffuse sound away from the house. The material of choice was Western Red Cedar, known for its durability and natural beauty.

The cedar was stained and pre-assembled into panels at our facility before being transported to the site. Despite frozen December ground conditions, our team carefully installed the posts and panels, completing the project with care and precision.

The result is a beautiful and effective sound barrier that enhances both comfort and curb appeal. See the gallery below for images of the finished fence.
