Over a Decade Later, We Return To Repair A Damaged Window
A window created by Heritage Restoration several years ago was damaged in an accident. We traveled back to its location in Kansas to provide repairs.

Nearly fifteen years ago, Heritage Restoration crafted a series of stained glass windows for a church in Kansas, each intricately depicting a specific saint or Apostle. Recently, during an interior renovation, the panel featuring St. Jude Thaddeus was damaged when a scaffold accidentally shattered a portion of the saint’s light blue cloak. Fortunately, the damaged section was confined and could be efficiently repaired by Heritage’s skilled artisans.
Heritage’s team promptly traveled to the church to carefully remove the damaged panel and transport it back to our workshop in Peoria, Illinois. The panel was partially disassembled to access the break, and the broken glass was meticulously cleared. A replacement piece of glass, matching the original blue hue, was custom-painted with the cloak’s intricate pattern and kiln-fired to permanently fuse the design onto the surface. Once reassembled, the repaired section blended seamlessly with the original work.
With the restoration complete, the St. Jude Thaddeus window was returned to the church and expertly reinstalled. The restoration preserved the window’s artistic integrity, ensuring the beloved depiction remains intact for years to come. We invite you to view the gallery below for images documenting this meticulous process.
