St. John's Newman Center Mural Restoration
Some of the members of St. John's Newman center in Champaign, Illinois found these life size murals stored in their basement. These murals had originally hung in their chapel and over the years they were removed, rolled up and stashed away for future use.
The canvas backing on these murals was very brittle and the paint was pealing and chipping in various locations. Using several restoration means, we were able to restore the canvas and repair the chipped and damaged paint. We built custom frames to enshrine these murals.
